ATI to work on drivers for Doom 3

The Inquirer has reported that ATI will be releasing a new driver with improvements in the upcoming game Doom 3.

The head of ATI’s Public Relation’s Department has confirmed claims sent to The Inquirer. ATI has not worked on the OpenGL part of their Catalyst driver for almost a year now, mostly due to the fact that there weren’t any new games programmed in OpenGL.

There’s no word on how long the driver will take, but the long awaited game’s performance on ATI graphics cards should see a boost once the new driver is released and utilized.
