PhysOrg issued a report today about a search alternative called Ecosia that is said to provide you with more than mere search engine query results. It could potentially help in the fight against the affects of climate change. The idea is that with each search made with Ecosia, text ad dollars generated will go to helping the Amazon rain forests.

What does this mean to you?

If you are into helping the environment, using Ecosia could translate into an easily obtainable course of action to help you as an individual to do your part. If you could care less, I have found that the search results provided by Ecosia are very good. Google-like even. And while I at first suspected that they might be Bing enabled, further investigation indicates that they are not.
