ReadWriteWeb reports that Boxee has unleashed their new Social Dashboard. Boxee’s own VP of marketing states the reasoning is to help changing the way people view television. The VP also went on to mention that Boxee’s new dashboard design is setup to encourage more exploration, further blurring local and streaming content.

What does this mean to you?

Through a number of confirmed posts in the Boxee forums that Hulu is again, blocking their content, I think most people will not care very much about a shiny new way to miss Hulu. Boxee is as good as the content it can access. I can confirm what the forums have been saying. Over the past few days, Boxee’s access to Hulu has been killed with the first commercial break. Until the bugs with Hulu can be addressed, TV bittorrent magically become legal or more mainstream content is made available, creating a new UI means very little.
