Google Launches Real Time Search

Credit to http://www.flickr.com/photos/dullhunk/3389581452/Google is announcing that they have begun the process of launching their real time search capabilities into their mainline search results. While not every query is going to show real time results, I did manage to get it working with the following query for Twilight. Turns out that the functionality is not yet green lit for my area, so I was able to take Google’s new real time search for a run by adding &esrch=RTSearch to the end of a popular search query.

What does this mean to you?

Depending on how you view mixing social media with your search engine, you might very well love this idea. Personally, I dislike it and find very little appearing in Twitter to be relevant unless I am already subscribing to that specific user. The biggest problem I found was some of the real time results were just people babbling on about the queried word. That is not helping my search experience at all.
