T-Mobile To Offer Nexus One Google Phone

Android_LogoGoogle is in talks with T-Mobile USA as a likely candidate to offer the soon to be sought after Nexus One Google phone.  Seen as a clear indicator that Google is looking to step up its battle with the Apple iPhone, the Wall Street Journal indicates that the phone could be sold through T-Mobile as soon as the first part of 2010. Google working closely with T-Mobile, will be able to sell the phones cheaper to T-Mobile customers thanks to Google’s offering being incentive for new customers to signup with T-Mobile.

What does this mean to you?

The idea behind the phone is that this will be a Google branded mobile phone, not like other Android powered mobile phones released previously.  The single most important thing however that will come out of this is Google being in charge of what features are offered. This means it’s not T-Mobile decision to offer MMS or not, it would instead be up to Google. If you ask me, this is a great thing as carriers generally hold back on features here in the USA.
