For quite sometime people have been asking when Twitter was going to start integrating business friendly services into their offerings. Then today I discovered that this is already well under way. Seems that Twitter is going to be offering a feature called “contributors” for select beta testers to try out. According to VentureBeat, this functionality would allow multiple users to have their own credentials on the existing businesses account for posting Tweets.

What does this mean to you?

If you are a business owner, this could mean you will be able to provide a stronger customer service presence on Twitter. Rather than having ten individuals all using different Twitter accounts or the same people sharing one, you would be able to see who is doing what based on the name in the Tweet byline. The key to this being successful however, will be Twitter getting this out of Beta ASAP so we can use it!
