Google Nexus One Early Review

Everyone is waiting anxiously to get their hands on Google’s Nexus One, the phone that Google designed and supposed to retail on its own. While there are few details online on the specifics, one blogger was able to play with the actual device and report back his findings. He says:
- Extremely thin and much nicer looking than pictures online
- Came with a 4 GB microSD card installed
- The battery capacity is 1400 mAh
- The screen appears to be OLED with same resolution as Motorola Droid
- 3G compatibility with T-Mobile USA
- No 3G on AT&T (EGDE only)
- Unlocked
- Super fast. Even faster than Droid
- No multitouch support in the browser or in Google Maps
- No dedicated camera key, but it’s the same camera interface as the Droid
- Trackball can be used to focus (like on other HTC devices)
- Low-light performance is decent; flash is weak
- Calls are routed the normal way, not using data (VoIP), and sound fine
- Home screen is divided into 5 panes
- Uses a micro-USB connector for data/power
- Some gold contacts at the bottom edge
There you have it, folks. Early hands on impressions from a source that played with the device and thinks highly of it. And the anticipation builds until we get our hands on the final version…
