Palm Second Quarter Results Points to More Failure

Palm has had a rough time with their Palm Pre mobile device. Despite Palm’s best efforts with Sprint as the carrier of choice, Palm has seen significant disappointment with their second quarter revenue. ZDNET reports that even though Palm has tried significant marketing with Sprint for the Palm Pre and Pixi, the market’s reception has been quite cold. Apparently Palm is hoping to regroup at CES in an effort to reinvigorate their existing customer base about their products.

What does this mean to you?

Palm is in dire need of new management. Instead of looking at the existing smart phones and seeing where they are dropping the ball, Palm is spending their time trying to rebuild the iPhone and Android phones in their own image. Sadly for Palm, this is not working. Too little, too late, Palm may be forced to completely rethink their mobile strategy as teaming up with the failing Sprint has only served to make matters worse for them.
