Google AdMob Purchase Attracts Antitrust Attention

When Google purchased AdMob for $750M, we doubted that U.S. regulators would pay the transaction much attention at the time. Yet according to PCWorld, this is exactly what is happening now. The article goes on to state that Google’s intentions are merely for revenue generation. Google does not see any need for regulatory intervention, much less any anti-trust consideration.

What does this mean to you?

Google is, by some accounts, getting too big for itself. Most people pay little attention to the man behind the curtain at the search giant, but based on the companies Google is acquiring, perhaps this needs to change? Do we need to worry about Google becoming something that might fall into the realm of anti-trust law? This is all something that remains to be seen.
