Google Voice Returns to the iPhone

Not too long ago, Apple opted to remove any trace of applications providing Google Voice functionality from the App Store. Despite a FCC investigation, we are still without an app-based solution for Google Voice. That’s changes today, according to TechCrunch. It seems that VoiceCentral is bringing back Google Voice to iPhone users in the form of a browser-based option called the Swan Edition.

What does this mean to you?

Most people I know are growing tired of being limited to Skype for VoIP when using their iPhone. So the news of this “Swan Edition” utilizing Google Voice over the iPhone browser is likely to be a smashing success. And if launched correctly, it will be able to avoid Apple’s nonsense with disallowing apps. After all, this isn’t technically an app.
