Amazon Kindle’s Future in 2010

Seems that eBook readers have done very well over the holiday season, despite the gloomy economic forecasts saying otherwise. Now with the holidays over, some are asking what the future will be for Amazon Kindle considering the expected release of the Apple tablet coming in 2010. PCWorld is reporting that the Amazon Kindle will need to evolve its image in order to stay on top of the eReader market as Apple pushes forward with their own offering.

What does this mean to you?

Those of you who own the current Kindle may suddenly find themselves looking at something of an obsolete eReader once the Apple tablet is released. On the flip side, however, if Kindle’s simplicity is able to provide stronger battery life, more book selection and a clear offering to readers that the Apple tablet, Amazon may have nothing to worry about. After all, it is possible that the Apple tablet could just carve out its own market with people who have yet to buy a Kindle at all.
