Apple’s iSlate Will Be A Complete Laptop?
There’s no way this discussion is going to end until after Apple makes its official announcement in January where they are supposedly going to announce their tablet, or the iSlate, or whatever they end up calling it at the time. Either way, we have CNET with its editorial today that questions whether or not Apple’s tablet will be a larger iPhone/iPod Touch, limited to apps from the App Store, or if it will be a more laptop-like device that will replace our MacBooks.
They raise the question of having a low-powered processor that might end up limiting the tablet and turning it into a larger iPhone/iPod Touch combo. That wouldn’t make it quite as interesting as a device that can allow us to replace our regular laptops on the go. On the other hand, they want to see the iSlate be a Macbook replacement. At a comparatively lower price point and with the ability to run Mac OS X, that would make the device a lot more interesting.
Either way, CNET is just having a little fun with the discussions. Go ahead and participate.
