Google Chrome OS Netbook Specs Leaked
Google is keeping itself busy with their applications and corresponding hardware devices. In addition to working on the Google Nexus One, the search giant said last month it will partner with hardware manufacturers to design a netbook that will be optimal for the also announced Chrome OS, a Linux-based, browser-only OS with faster boot times and data stored in the cloud. Wired has leaked specs of the Chrome OS netbook, and they look interesting, to say the least.
Google’s upcoming netbook through a likely partner of theirs will include the NVIDIA Tegra platform with an ARM CPU, a 10.1-inch multitouch screen that supports HD, 64GB SSD hard drive, 2GB of RAM, and Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, and a Webcam. Google had previously stated that it’s working with various manufacturers to design a Chrome OS netbook. The rumors also suggest the price tag to be around $300 after carrier subsidy.
Google has promised to ready the Chrome OS for the 2010 holiday season.
