Apple Expected to Sell 10 Million Tablets, Says Former Google President

After Piper Jaffray Analyst Gene Munster estimated total Apple tablet sales to be 1.4 million for 2010, it seemed like a reasonable enough estimate. Even though the numbers were completely made up with no product assessment, market reaction or historical sales data to back up his thesis, it got the intended result – media reaction. We continue to report on former Google China President Kai-Fu Lee’s blog post that detailed sensitive information about the rumored tablet. In addition to confirming a lot of specific information, he also reveals that Apple is expecting to sell 10 million units a year. We don’t know if this is the estimate for 2010, or for every year going forward. Whatever it is, Apple is aggressive just like always, and if history is anything to go by, they will easily beat this target. No wonder Apple is the stock of the year for 2010.
