China Is Losing Their Grip On The Internet
Websites, such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, are becoming all the rage in China. According to those who want to see more freedom in blogging in China, the censors representing the Great Wall of China (firewall) are not hitting their marks and are losing the war due to this. In addition to this, the Chinese are also finding that they are slowly gaining greater access in general as well. Despite these loosened restrictions, adult content and blogging are likely to remain banned content for the Chinese populous.
What does this mean to you?
While those who want free speech in China are making tremendous progress, there is still much work to be done. China is far from being done in controlling their citizens. And as one might expect, all of China’s censorship is doing more harm than good anyway. In the end, I see China losing the war on censoring their people big time.
