Google Nexus One to Hit Verizon in Spring
When we were speculating about the Nexus One in December, we were only aware of the T-Mobile locked and an unlocked GSM version of the phone. However, today comes news that Verizon will carry the highly anticipated Google phone starting Spring. In addition to having T-Mobile support the phone, Google will currently ship the unlocked version of the device to customers in the US, UK, Hong Kong and Singapore.
This gives Verizon users a reason to celebrate. After the largest carrier in the US decided to be more open with its smartphone offerings, it has managed to get a few highly anticipated phones that have its customers getting excited about staying with Verizon. After T-Mobile enjoys offering the phone exclusively, more or less, for three months, Verizon users will be able to get their hands on one as well. Talk about Verizon going completely Android. This on top of the speculation of Verizon offering a CDMA version of the 4th-generaiton iPhone. Verizon is seriously looking to improve its credibility in the market for high-end smartphones with aggressive partnerships with Motorola, Google and possibly Apple. AT&T should be scared.
