A marriage made in heaven? That is how some people are describing the purchase of Ping.fm by Seesmic. While the actual numbers involved with the acquisition are unknown at this point, TechCrunch did mention that this is among the first acquisitions for the brand new year.

What does this mean to you?

I have used Ping.fm since day one. It’s fantastic for sending updates to multiple micro-blogging platforms, such as Twitter and FriendFeed. But to marry it with a social network updating software like Seesmic is simply awesome. Seesmic provides the means with software, Ping.fm provides the pathways for updating multiple networks. Together, they are going to be fantastic.
