Google Nexus One: It’s Simply An Ad Strategy
PCWorld reports that Google may potentially be looking at buying out T-Mobile. Not for immediate gratification, rather for benefits yet to materialize. Should this speculation come true, it would mean that the search giant is sure to be the one providing tomorrow’s “digital billboards” as their map technology continues to evolve. The article goes on to point out that even though ad supported hardware has not been successful in the past, it does not mean that it would be impossible for Google to implement such a mobile advertising strategy with the right game plan in play.
What does this mean to you?
Realizing this is merely reading between the lines of what Google might be thinking, we can surmise about the stronger strategy that could be entertained should Google decide to move forward with some kind of T-Mobile buyout. Doing so would mean that Google is in one of the strongest positions to completely dominate the future of mobile advertising at the local level with their maps, in addition to national advertisements served on Google-powered phones. Enter the Google Nexus One – a tiny piece of a much larger puzzle.
