iPhone Service Frustrating AT&T Users at CES 2010

Apple has been receiving some very poor press at CES this year. Not due to their presence, or lack there of. Rather due the fact that reports are coming in by the truck load that iPhone users are getting horrible service with AT&T during the event. iPhone users are complaining of not being able to send or receive data, with any level of success. To make matters worse for Apple and AT&T, many of the attendees that experienced this were reporters.

What does this mean to you?

If I was not stuck in a contract, one where I was told that my AT&T-powered iPhone would be able to use 3G, which it cannot, I’d dump AT&T like a bad habit. And now, we see yet more evidence of AT&T’s inability to maintain their data usage on their network during one of the most important tech conferences of the year. Clearly, this is not doing Apple or AT&T any favors. So while AT&T is working to make their network faster, those attending CES will need to locate open WiFi to get their thoughts to the social Web this year. AT&T has dropped the ball again.
