Windows Mobile 7 Not Backwards Compatible
With Microsoft’s Developer Conference coming up shortly, speculation suggests the software giant will first announce the OS with updated hardware specs. coming up soon after. CrunchGear got a developer to confirm, “this new version is so distant from the old WinMo that it is almost unrecognizable. The worst part? It is completely non-backwards compatible, meaning all WinMo apps are about go extinct.”
We can see why Microsoft would want to start everything fresh and take on Android and iPhone OS for the mobile market, which some consider to be as valuable as the PC market from a decade ago. Not to mention, Microsoft also came back from behind with Bing, running it as a startup within the company, and making headway with market share gains. We wouldn’t underestimate Microsoft’s seriousness in taking over the mobile market.
