Windows Mobile 7 Not Backwards Compatible

It is completely non-backwards compatible, meaning all WinMo apps are about go extinct.”

Not to mention, Microsoft also came back from behind with Bing, running it as a startup within the company, and making headway with market share gains. We wouldn’t underestimate Microsoft’s seriousness in taking over the mobile market.
