Apple is currently in last minute talks with AT&T and Verizon to sign a network deal for GSM and CDMA versions of its tablet. Nothing has materialized, however. This adds to our previous story stating that Apple will indeed work with both carriers to distribute the tablet.
While the discussions are ongoing, what’s critical to note is that Apple may not strike these deals in time for its invite-only press conference on Wednesday, January 27.

Apple is also in talks with six of the largest publishers in the US for content deals, and those deals might not be finalized either in time for the press conference.
