Apple Won’t Use the Word Tablet to Name its Tablet

Modbook CEO Andreas Haas says Apple won’t use the word tablet to name its tablet. Why? Because of the general notion associated with the word tablet. It’s a niche market, he claims, and Apple wouldn’t want to give people the impression that consumers are using something from a few years ago. They want to give it a refreshing feeling.

It’s just one executive’s view behind Apple’s thinking, assuming we’re correct in interpreting his remarks that he made to PCMag. It’s a little difficult to understand what exactly he’s trying to say. We don’t agree with his logic, and neither does Apple, we’re sure. Apple is one of those rare companies that doesn’t play by the rules and nothing applies to them. They are an outlier. Either way, it’s something interesting to think about while we await tomorrow’s announcement.
