Bill Gates Defends Google, Then Belittles Them
In an unprecedented action for Mr. Bill Gates, he finds himself defending Google…to a degree. In a recent interview with the NYTimes, Gates pointed out that he did not consider Google a monopolist. To be clear though, he also mentioned that he did not like to consider anyone a monopolist. He went on to present Google with a rather backhanded compliment by stating they must be hyper-successful if the world’s governments are giving the search giant any kind of antitrust scrutiny.
What does this mean to you?
Gates readily admits that Google is doing something right in their business space. What was almost missed though was the fact that Gates was unmoved and unconcerned over China’s position over censorship. Taking Steve Ballmer’s stance, Gates is not seeing any sort of problem with China’s behavior with regard to hacking into Google’s systems. That, my friends, is a prime example of why I do not buy or participate in Microsoft products. Money is king, to heck with personal privacy.
