At its press conference, Apple revealed it’s now the largest mobile devices company in the world with $50 billion in annual revenues. It has effectively beaten Nokia, Samsung and Sony with its iPod, iPhone and notebooks to bring in the most amount of revenue from mobile devices.

Today marked another product announcement for Apple with its iPad tablet that’s yet another mobile device for the mainstream market. With the prices starting at $499 for the lowest capacity, WiFi-only iPad, this will surely be another multi-billion dollar category for Apple. Some estimates have pegged Apple’s iPad to be a $3 billion/year business.
