Apple iPad to Offer Microsoft Word and $10 E-Books

Looks like Apple is dead serious about making sure the launch of the iPad starts off with every possible advantage. AppleInsider reports that the iPad will not only offer support for Microsoft Word, but it will be coming into the marketplace with $10 e-books and six full days of music. But perhaps the most priceless piece of the article was the verbal exchange between writer Walt Mossberg and Steve Jobs. Jobs covered all his bases.

What does this mean to you?

By no means do I believe that the iPad is going to be a game changing device. But now more than ever, I think it destroys any value seen with the Kindle. Music, cheap e-books and the ability to save to Microsoft Word format presents a stronger argument for someone to buy an iPad over a Kindle. Pure and simple economics and function…and I’m not even a Mac fan!
