Adobe CTO Promises Better Mac Performance in Flash 10.1

After Apple CEO Steve Jobs said the reason why he’s not fond of Adobe Flash is because of its terrible performance on the Mac platform, Adobe responded back with a promise. Adobe CTO Kevin Lynch promised better Mac performance in Flash 10.1 that’s currently in beta and is expected to be released in the first half of this year. The executive also said Flash 10 is equivalent in performance on both Windows and Mac platforms. Lynch warned of various browsers to enhance performance and said that users should stick to Apple Safari for the best experience and not bother with Google Chrome, since it’s currently in beta and has problems of its own.

Adobe is threatened with the industry talking about HTML5 and Apple clearly blocking a major plug-in that also blocks major Web services. If those services switch to another standard, we could see the end of Flash. With this promise, Adobe is proving to Apple that it is indeed a worthy contender for Apple to reconsider for its products that attract millions of users.
