Google Serves “Parisian Love” Search Commercial During Super Bowl
Yesterday, we reported on a rumor stating that Google may be running a Super Bowl commercial at the historic game last night. The rumor turned out to be true. Initially, we reported that it might be a Nexus One commercial, but that wasn’t the case. Instead, Google served a “Parisian Love” commercial to highlight Google Search as a person searched to woo a French girl.
The commercial had a very emotional feel to it, and it was expected to warm users to search, usually just a casually repetitive task. This was Google’s first Super Bowl commercial, and although neither CBS nor Google confirmed the price, CBS was selling 30-second spots for $3 million, and sources report Google’s 1-minute long commercial might have cost the search company $5 million.
