Just when we believed that Facebook was getting a handle on maintaining our personal data over their network, an article to the contrary surfaces. SFGate is reporting that people are all too willing to give out their personal information to complete strangers over Facebook. Despite the walled garden approach to social networking, it seems that many Facebook users are still all too willing to connect with people they’ve never met.

What does this mean to you?

Stop connecting with strangers. Seems simple enough. And before pointing to Twitter, consider the fact that Facebook profiles are generally more detailed. Facebook users are all too willing to share everything about themselves, without fully considering the consequences.
