Despite Google’s past failures in the social media landscape, they are trying again with Buzz, according to TechCrunch. Buzz is Google’s latest attempt at remaining relevant in the social media realm by integrating Gmail with Google Buzz’s Friendfeed-like functionality.

Normally, announcements like this are deemed fairly stupid in my household. Then something shockingly relevant comes along to bring the entire thing into focus. Imagine a Friendfeed-like functionality with your existing Gmail account? The fact of the matter is that Google is tackling the single biggest problem with most social media concepts – the lack of integration with other products are already using. Bundling Buzz with Gmail is going to spell success for Google.
