Yahoo Updates is Google Buzz from Last Year

According to Business Insider, Google Buzz is old news. Yes, it was streamed live to the world today via YouTube. However, the article clearly points out that Yahoo has been ahead of Google in this realm for about a year now. It looks like Yahoo Updates is able to do what Google Buzz is hoping to do today.

What does this mean to you?

Yes, folks, Google is basically repeating what Yahoo did a year ago. At least that is how Yahoo sees it.  Perhaps Google Buzz will further legitimize what Yahoo did a year or so earlier? Perspective on this is everything. Worse, the buzz around Google Buzz is not expected to last long anyway.

  • Just because a company comes out with an idea earlier doesn't mean it's a success. I mean, who's heard of Yahoo! Updates before this week? I haven't, and I use Yahoo! products. Yahoo is simply jealous that Google is going to make this work. With phone AND desktop integration, Buzz clearly wins.
