Google Falls Further Behind Baidu
As if Google needed another reason to reconsider their Chinese operations, PC World is reporting that competitor Baidu is seeing real confidence gains over the American search giant. Apparently, various advertisers are skittish about investing ad dollars with Google, after their threat to leave China last month. With Google already holding a distant second place to the preferred Baidu search engine, the Google China team is going to have to work to overcome the lack of ad dollars due to Google’s threat to leave China.
What does this mean to you?
At this point, I would be packing my bags. Seriously, Google is losing out to Baidu, and the Chinese haven’t lifted a finger to show support for Google’s efforts in recent months. No, I would no longer cater to them simply out of principle if I were Google.
