Windows Mobile rebooted. According to Engadget, Microsoft completely started over with their latest Windows Mobile adventures with Windows Phone 7. The article points out that all major carriers are expected to provide Windows Phone 7-based phones. Featuring a high-resolution screen and access to Xbox Live, this is expected to be a huge step up from previous versions of Windows Mobile.

Besides the obvious point that this is a huge step forward for Microsoft, the question remains – what took so long? That aside, this new touch platform Microsoft is rolling with could very well give the software giant the push they need to once again attract folks in the mobile marketplace.
