Twitter Pushes 50 Million Tweets a Day, Keeps Growing
Facebook may be king of the jungle for the time being, but according to PC Magazine, this could some day be a very different story. They’re reporting that Twitter is seeing 50 million tweets each day. I can’t even begin to get my head around those kinds of numbers personally. There are some considerations, such as replications; however, since one tweet can be repeated over and again, thanks to retweeting.
So perhaps these numbers are more like 10 million original tweets with something like 40 million repeats? Clearly, this is a difficult metricĀ to get our heads around. But one thing is for sure. Going from 7 thousand tweets in 2007 up to 50 million in 2010 is impressive.
