Betty White fans have made their voices clear on Facebook, they want her to host an episode of SNL. Recently, Facebook and Twitter have managed to become a force to be reckoned with. It seems that a report from Chicago Now proves that the power of social media is not something to be trifled with.

The real takeaway is how shows like SNL are now being influenced by social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter.  There is now a question as to whether or not modern TV is to continue to be participated in from within the social media world. My guess is the next step is to make this level of participation more transparent for the end-user. Perhaps in the future SNL, and other shows like it, will allow for Facebook users to make their voice heard in a dynamic way, while the show is airing, in a WebTV-like format?
