Motorola Devour Review

Another day, another Android phone from Motorola. This phone maker is serious about coming back strongly with Google by its side. The Motorola Devour is an interesting looking device that packs Android 1.6 at its heart and a unique design.

CNET writes, “The Motorola Devour has a sturdy design with a functional feature set and a spacious keyboard. It’s a good performer, too.”

Despite that, there were a few noteworthy flaws. “The Motorola Devour runs on Android 1.6, and it’s display is small for the phone’s size. The placement of some controls could be improved, and its camera has a few features.”

Due to the older version of Android 1.6, the Devour is a mixed bag. “The Motorola Devour is built to last and it delivers on features and performance. We’d make a few usability changes, and we were hoping for more than Android 1.6, but Motorola makes another good Android move.”

It's important to remember that the Devour is not supposed to be the next iteration of the Droid. Instead, the Devour is supposed to round out Motorola's product line on Verizon by appealing to a less tech-savvy, younger crowd.

And it's priced at only $29.99, which is certainly going to appeal to the high school/college crowds which get by with less money.

All in all, I think this is a great messaging and social networking phone, and you're going to see quite a few kids carrying it around.
