No iPad Production Issues, Expect to Ship 650K Units At Launch
Earlier this week, an analyst suggested that Apple has hit an unexpected production issue that would limit the supply to 300K units at launch and may even cause Apple to delay the launch by a month. It’s untrue, claims Foxconn, the manufacturing contractor for a number of Apple products.
Sources inside Foxconn said the analyst report is false, and that Foxconn will shop 600K-700K units at launch with 1M units in production for April. They also said it’s “unlikely” Apple will delay the shipments for the iPad. We concur with this statement. Apple is not in the habit of delaying product shipment, and we wouldn’t expect it to this time either.
