RIM BlackBerry Curve 8530 Review

It’s almost pointless to review every BlackBerry device in the market because there are so many of them, but RIM is interesting in a sense that every device is different enough to warrant a look. That also makes picking one BlackBerry device from another confusing because usually the difference between the two models is a matter of WiFi connectivity, or something mediocre like that. We’ve asked RIM what’s the idea behind doing this, but we weren’t convinced with their response. “We want consumers to have choice,” is inexcusable.

CNET took a look at the longstanding BlackBerry Curve series with the 8530. They write, “The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8530 offers ease of use and a compact design. Its features include Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 2-megapixel camera.”

Despite this, CNET said, “The smartphone feels a bit cheap and it has a low-resolution screen. Its call quality could be better.”

Overall, “Some design issues aside, the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8530 is a great value for Sprint customers looking for an entry-level smartphone.”
