We just published a report discussing Apple’s aggressive tactic to take on Android through HTC and keeping competitors at bay. While Android, HTC and everyone else in the industry is being cautious, Microsoft is just as aggressively approaching partners to work with the software giant to launch Windows Phone 7 Series mobile devices for the 2010 holiday season.

In fact, if anything, Apple would much rather fight against Microsoft and Windows than deal with Android, the free alternative to the iPhone OS. Microsoft hasn’t been shy in meeting with partners to tell them about Windows Phone 7 Series and add in the fact that Microsoft will be ready to back partners in case of a legal onslaught from Apple.

This Apple-HTC lawsuit is driving partners to Microsoft, and Microsoft, or Apple, couldn’t have it any other way.
