iPhone App Guru Explains Why Android Doesn’t Cut It

As if we needed any more proof why the iPhone continues to outrank Android on app numbers, All Things Digital appears to have hit the nail on the head. Android fragmentation is a cancer that’s affecting developers and users simultaneously. It seems rather clear that a growing number of mobile developers are becoming quite disgusted with the notion developing for Android at all due to issues of multiple Android “types.”

There can be no question that developer “mega-stars” have the means to do whatever is needed to meet the various Android needs. The problem, however, is will the time and money spent be recouped on a fragmented Android platform? My guess? Certainly not. But luckily for Android users, some developers are willing to overlook the shortcomings and develop for the sake of mindshare.
