JooJoo Improves Tablet After Delay

After delaying the shipping date for the JooJoo to fix capacitive display glitches, the company has spent that month improving the interface substantially. Yay for productivity. Not only have they improved the interface with a new icon-based look, but they have also removed the pinch-to-zoom option to go back and switched to a vertical swipe to pull down a menu of actions. There’s now a panning feature as well for Google Maps and other Web apps that aren’t traditional in their use of the mouse.

And in an interesting twist, the company has removed black as the primary color of the device to replace it with champagne. It gives it a more iPad-look, if you will. JooJoo CEO Chandra Ratkhakrishnan said consumers could have their money, $499, back if they don’t like the color scheme. As much as we appreciate the offer, it’s such a smug reply from a company that may just get decimated once the iPad hits retail stores on April 3.
