We published a report earlier with an estimate that suggests that Apple may be selling as many as 20,000 iPad devices an hour. That’s a remarkably strong number, and obviously, it’s difficult to predict if the company is indeed selling that many devices. It’s certainly intriguing to predict sales figures based on what we have so far – speculation.

If this number continues, which is highly unlikely, then Apple will sell a million iPad units in two days [20,000 units x 24 hours = 480,000 per day] just with pre-orders alone. Analyst estimates suggest that Apple will sell between 1 and 5 million units for 2010. Once the device goes on sale worldwide on April 3, reaching these numbers will be easy for the company. It is after all the device of the year and sales can only accelerate, especially around the holiday season.
