HTC Touch Pro3 Coming This Summer

A new rumor from XDA-Developers conference suggest that HTC is in the process of introducing a new Windows Mobile 6.5 device in summer. It will be called the Touch Pro3, and it will be an extension to the existing Touch Pro series.

There’s no word on specs, but the phone will first debut in Europe in Q2 of this year.

What we don’t understand is HTC’s need to introduce a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone a few months before Windows Phone 7 Series phones will appear in the market. The HTC Touch Pro3 will probably be the last phone to have Windows Mobile 6.5, and it would be a horrible idea for anyone to get a phone that will be outdated in a matter of few months that they can’t even upgrade.

Who said the new, possibly mythical, Touch Pro 3 is not upgradeable to Windows Mobile 7?

The only statement Microsoft has made is that the HD2 will not be supported for upgrade, because it has five physical buttons on the front panel and Windows Mobile 7 Series devices may only have three. (Start, Back, Search) (Microsoft: "Sorry, your phone is too capable, you can't upgrade.")

Get your facts straight, there is more than enough misinformation already.

Not such a horrible idea!! Windows Mobile 7 cant be skinned so unless it can out perform the wonderful HTC Sense User Interface found on HTC HD2 (highly unlikely) then this device gets my vote and my cash easily!
