Sprint Eyeing Exclusivity With BlackBerry 9900/9300 Slider

The new RIM BlackBerry Slider, which we have covered before, may hit Sprint first with exclusivity. A new round of rumors suggest that Sprint is interested in giving its subscribers the first dibs on RIM’s new BlackBerry form factor.

The Slider will carry BlackBerry 9900 and BlackBerry 9930 model names, and it will come in GSM and CDMA version to support Sprint and AT&T down the line. Also, the phone is expected to work on 850/1900MHz UMTS bands that will make it compatible with AT&T and Rogers 3G networks.

Unfortunately for RIM, the device failed early diagnostic testing 4 out of 5 times, which is rare for RIM devices. Up until this point, only the BlackBerry Pearl had failed such a large amount of tests.

There’s still no word on availability yet.
