In an effort to convince the masses that Silverlight is not a dead-end, Microsoft partner Netflix has been showing off the Watch Instantly functionality of their upcoming Windows Phone 7 application. As Engadget reports, Netflix made sure to paint the application as red as possible, just in case there was any “branding confusion.”

The article is fair in pointing out that once you get past the overload of “red,” the application itself is pretty cool. But as the Examiner rightfully points out, there is no real Netflix love for iPhone users. Luckily, the Watch Instantly content on Netflix is far and few between. So if you have hankering for lots of direct DVD movies and TV shows from the 80’s, then surely this Netflix app for Microsoft’s latest phone will be a great match for you.
