Samsung Moment Review

Android is taking over the smartphones market in all categories – from low-end, entry-level phones to high-end, power horses. The Samsung Moment falls in the high-end category that works well enough and is targeted at people who need to get a lot of work done. The Samsung Moment delivers if you’re looking for a good Android messaging phone, but due to the Nexus One and the Motorola Droid’s popularity, it has taken a back seat and doesn’t get a lot of attention.

CNET writes, “The Samsung Moment has a bright display with a spacious keyboard. Productivity features are plentiful and call quality is clear.”

However, “The Samsung Moment’s touch interface and controls were a little sluggish. The camera lacks editing features, call volume could be louder, and speakerphone quality was just average.”

In conclusion, “With its full keyboard and bright display, the Samsung Moment successfully rounds out Sprint’s Android offerings.”

so basically what you're saying is this, you dont really do the review, you just copy and paste and allow us to assume that you have done it........

I have owned HTC Hero, BB Tour, Moment, and a dozen or so other phones, all on the Sprint Network. The Moment is a great phone and multitasking workhorse. Camera quality is very good, call quality is awesome and the phone does what its supposed to do. In the coming days, there will be an update for the Android OS and that will not only add alot of features, but will also take away the sluggishness.

That being said, there are alot of choices in the market as far as "smart phones" go, you need to take a few days with your phone of choice and decide which one fits your needs and personality. I personally dont like slide out keyboards, so my opinion is skewed in regards to that aspect of this particular phone. My wife however went from the Pre to the Moment and absolutely loves it!

This review was hilariously bad. The Moment is an amazing phone, as well as being a flagship device for Samsung.

Clearly this is NO review at all... It's just a statement of the obvious. The Droid has a lot more marketing behind it so it is more popular. It is NOT a better phone in any way! Just spend a few minutes trying to type on the keyboard, then compare that to the Moment keyboard. It's like night and day. All the Droid owners I have spoken with say that they don't even use the keyboard and just use the virtual keypad instead. What a waste! This completely verifies just how bad the Droid functions as a Qwerty phone. 2.1 is great but once the Moment gets on that wagon, the Droid will have nothing on the Moment except a larger network...

even with your revisions, this is still a fail "review", please throw your keyboard into on coming traffic...

Like others have said, you obviously spent no time actually USING this phone.

Are you kidding? You should at least compare two phones that are running equal operating systems. Gezz.

    Gundeep,

Did you spend more then 10 seconds actually looking a the phones in question and also do you really know anything about the flavor of android in each of these phones? And if your going to start talking about processors have you noted the fact that the Moment's processor is 800 mhz, while the Droid's is 550mhz. Ridiculous review. Your argument, your source and your conclusion aren't coherent in the least. It could have been pasted together by a 5 year old with scissors and a couple of tech magazines, in fact said 5 year old's would have made more sense.
  • This review is bullshit and tells everyone that the reviewer didn't even give this phone the time of day. The moment is far and away from an entry-level phone. I own a Droid and my brother has a Moment.. And I can honestly say that the Moment has better hardware and when it gets its 2.1 upgrade, that sluggishness and lack of touch responsiveness you speak of will disappear.

Do some research before you post something like this - it really doubts any credibility you may have.

It's hard to compare an android 1.5 OS to 2.0 isn't it? If you're going to compare the two, you should at least do so on an equal comparison field. As far as camera editing, there's a gazillion apps in the market to do that. I don't see why that should be a negative.

No match for the Droid? Seriously? You obviously have not used this phone and have no right reviewing it.
