HTC CEO Considers Nexus One A Success
Google may not have sold too many Nexus One devices, but HTC CEO Peter Chou said he considers the Nexus One to be a success. Google might not have sold a lot of units, but the search giant’s intention was to show the world what Android could be given enough resources. Their intention was never to sell as many units as they could. In other words, it was another one of Google’s experiments.
In an interview to Forbes at CTIA 2010, Chou said HTC wants to be the top brand for Android, and they have proven that. HTC would be thrilled with Android now that Google is supporting the Taiwanese company in its legal battle against Apple.
Chou also acknowledged that Nexus One could’ve been a blockbuster had Google spent money on marketing and focusing on having a strong retail presence.
