Samsung Galaxy S Comes With Blazing Fast Hummingbird Processor

Samsung Galaxy S is one of the hottest Android phones to show up at CTIA 2010, and the news about it doesn’t stop coming. In not so widely reported information, Samsung reported that the Galaxy S can process 90 million triangles per second, which makes it three times faster than any other smartphone on the market, all thanks to the Hummingbird processor that’s housed in the device.

Phandroid did a quick comparison of other smartphones that are currently in the market in terms of how much better their image quality is, and here’s their chart:

•    Motorola Droid: TI OMAP3430 with PowerVR SGX530 = 14 million triangles/sec
•    Nexus One: Qualcomm QSD8×50 with Adreno 200 = 22 million triangles/sec
•    iPhone 3GS: 600 MHz Cortex-A8 with PowerVR SGX535 = 28 million triangles/sec
•    Samsung Galaxy S: S5PC110 with PowerVR SGX540 = 90 million triangles/sec
•    PS3: 250 million triangles/sec
•    Xbox 360: 500 million triangles/sec

Combine that with AMOLED display on the Galaxy S and you have one beautiful device on your hands.
