We can’t help but wonder if the big two American mobile carriers (Verizon and AT&T) are ready to be seriously challenged? According to GigaOm, it looks like we may finally see a real challenger rising through the ranks with the kind of funding to really make a dent in the mobile marketplace.

The idea is a complex one – build out a multi-million dollar LTE wireless network. Because this LTE network would be of a 4G nature, it could spell real competition, and trouble, for the big two mobile networks already working to conquer the mobile data space.
