These days it feels like everything Apple touches suddenly turns into gold. Realizing this, one might ask what if Apple created a search engine then? This idea is explored at length, thanks to the Silicon Alley Insider. According to them, there is a 70% chance we’ll see an Apple search engine within the next five years.

While there is a lot of sense in creating an Apple-centric search engine, considering the mobile reach with the iPhone, and soon, the iPad. Apple has to also be able to support the effort with advertising, which is not going to be easy. Then there is the fact that this is merely speculation and Apple very well may not create their own search engine. Seems plausible enough, despite what the data presented by the Silicon Alley Insider might indicate.
