After delaying the Android 2.1 update for the Motorola Droid for unknown reasons, it’s back up and running for certain users. We reported yesterday that Droid’s European version, the Motorola Milestone, is getting its updates just fine across the pond.

Motorola will initially roll out the update to 1,000 users followed by another batch of 9,000 and eventually to 200,000 at a time starting Thursday. The company expects to roll out the update OTA to 200,000 users a day to ultimately hit the 2 million Droid buyers.
